ABOUT Chicken Tikka... RECIPE

Chicken tikka is a dish originating in Punjab region of Indian Sub Continent. The juicy marinade that coats the chicken and then refrigerated overnight to let the flavours blend in thoroughly and finally roasted or grilled on charcoal makes it succulent and super delicious. The charred effect from the coal renders it a unique flavour and aroma that is so very distinct and synonymous to perfectly done chicken tikka on charcoal. Happy Grilling !!!!!!!!!

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Chicken bone-in whole thigh and boneless chicken breasts 1 kg
  2. Yoghurt 1/2 cup
  3. Salt 1 tbsp
  4. Kashmiri red chilli powder 1 tbsp
  5. Green chillies 3
  6. Ginger garlic paste 2 tbsp
  7. Garam masala 1tsp
  8. Tikka masala 1 tbsp
  9. Gram flour 3 tbsp
  10. Coriander leaves chopped 1/2 cup
  11. Melted butter 1/2 cup


  1. Grind green chillies and coriander leaves.
  2. In a mixing bowl, add all the other ingredients along with this paste.
  3. Mix nicely and refrigerate it well covered preferably overnight for best results.
  4. Next day, arrange them on the skewers and baste with some melted butter.
  5. Grill on charcoals for the authentic flavour.
  6. Keep turning them every few minutes and keep basting with oil or butter.
  7. Until all done with a lovely aroma and the charred edges.
  8. Serve them hot alongside naans and salad.
