Ingredients to make Sambar Rice for Babies(above 1.5 yr)

  • For tempering:::
  • mustard seeds 1/2 tsp
  • urad dal 1/2 tsp
  • curry leaves 1 string
  • onion 1
  • red chilli 1
  • jeera seeds 1 tsp
  • fenugreek seeds 1 tsp
  • Cooking::::
  • tomato 2
  • turmeric powder 1 tsp
  • chilli powder 1 tsp
  • carrot 1
  • potato 1
  • hing 1 tsp
  • Green beans 5
  • Sambar powder 1 tsp
  • coriander powder 1 tsp
  • rice 1 cup
  • Toor dal 1/4 cup
  • Masoor dal 3 tsp
  • salt as required
  • water 3-4 cups
  • Tamarind water 1/2 cup

How to make Sambar Rice for Babies(above 1.5 yr)

  1. Soak rice and dal for 30min-1 hr
  2. In pressure cooker heat oil add mustard seeds,urad dal, curry leaves,fenugreek seeds,jeera seeds fry for 4 min
  3. Add chopped onion saute it well for 5 min.add tomato,salt,turmeric powder,sambar powder,coriander powder
  4. Add veggies and mix well.fry for 5-8 min.
  5. Pour water and tamarind water.add rice and dal,salt.
  6. Wait for 5-6 whistles
  7. Add 2 tsp of ghee and serve it hot with papadas and pickles

My Tip:

You can add any veggies as your kids taste.
