Instant Sooji appam

Ingredients to make Instant Sooji appam

  • semolina - 1 -1/2cup
  • Rice flour - 1/2 cup
  • curd. - 1 cup ( sour curd)
  • oil. - 2 tbsp
  • salt. - as per taste
  • mustard seed - 1 tsp
  • curry leaves -few finely chopped
  • baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  • green chillies -2-3 finely chopped
  • tomato, onion, green bell pepper - 1/2 cup each finely chopped

How to make Instant Sooji appam

  1. Take semolina and rice flour and mix it in big bowl.
  2. Now add curd and salt to it and mix really well. Add some water if better appears too thick.
  3. Now add finely chopped tomato , onion, bell pepper to it.
  4. Cover and keep the better aside for at least 15 min .to rest.
  5. Now take the appam pan . Add little bit oil in each compartment and and mustard seed also in each.
  6. When seeds splutter add curry leaves and baking soda to the batter and mix gently. pour the batter in each shell. Cover it and let them simmer for 3 minutes on low - medium flame.
  7. When the appam gets golden brown from beneath,flip the side and continue cook for 2-3 minutes.
  8. Now take out the roasted appam in the plate and similarly prepare the rest as well.
  9. Scrumptious and mouth drooling rawa appams are ready. Serve them with green coriander chutney.

My Tip:

We can use fermented uttapam better as well.
