ABOUT butterscotch cake RECIPE

butterscotch is my favourite flavour besides chocolate and a big piece of butterscotch cake peps up my mood any time.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 1 cup flour
  2. 1 cup malai or fresh cream
  3. 3/4 cup sugar
  4. 2 eggs
  5. 1 tsp baking powder
  6. 1/2 tsp baking soda
  7. pinch salt
  8. 1 tsp butterscotch essence
  9. 2-3 drops yellow food colour
  10. 1 tbsp butterscotch syrup
  11. 4 tbsp chopped almonds

Instructions

  1. Sieve the dry ingredients and keep aside.
  2. In a mixer blender, add sugar, malai and egg yolks and blend till sugar dissolves.
  3. Beat the egg whites till soft peaks.
  4. Take out the mixture from blender in a mixing bowl and add yellow food colour, butterscotch essence and butterscotch syrup and mix.
  5. Slowly fold in the flour just until mixed and no lumps.
  6. Fold in the egg whites slowly.
  7. spread chopped almonds on top.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degree Celsius for 30-35 mins till a skewer comes out clean.
  9. Demould when cool and add butterscotch syrup before serving.
