Ingredients to make Basbousa cake

  • 1 cup semolina
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 tsp butterscotch essence
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Pinch of salt..
  • 2 to 3 tbs coconut powder
  • For sugar syup
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • One big cinnamon stick..

How to make Basbousa cake

  1. In a large bowl mix the semolina, sugar ,baking powder and pinch of salt ..
  2. Meanwhile make the sugar syup by adding all the ingredients mention for sugar syrup. And boil for 5 to 10 min on median flame and set aside to cool..
  3. Now add the wet ingredients like milk,,curd and melted the dry ingredients
  4. To this add the essence..
  5. In a mean while grease the baking pan whether round or square it up to u..
  6. Preheat the oven at 180°c for 5to 7 min
  7. Now pour the batter into it and bake it At 180°c for 10 to 12 min when the toothpick comes out clean..
  8. Now pour the sugar syrup over it and place it for 1/2 an hr before serving.
  9. Now enjoy ur delicious cake with tea or coffee..
