Tomato masala curry

Ingredients to make Tomato masala curry

  • oil - 1 teaspoon
  • mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
  • hing
  • curry leaves
  • onion -1
  • tomato -2
  • salt - as needed
  • turmeric powder- 1/2 teaspoon
  • coconut (grated) - 4 teaspoon
  • Fried grams - 2 teaspoon
  • fennel seeds - 1 teasoon
  • green chillies - 3
  • cinnamon stick -2
  • cloves -1
  • water - 1 or 1.5 cup
  • coriander leaves - to garnish

How to make Tomato masala curry

  1. Chop onion and tomatoes, set aside.
  2. In a mixie jar add coconut, fried gram, cinnamon stick, cloves and fennel seeds. Grind it to a smooth paste.set aside
  3. Take a pan , add oil. When it begins to splutter add curry leaves ,hing . Saute it for a min and add onion.
  4. Saute till it turns translucent.
  5. Add tomatoes and saute well till it becomes mushy.
  6. Add turmeric powder and salt.mix it well and add a cup of water.
  7. When water starts boiling add coconut paste. Allow the curry to boil. Turn off the heat and Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot with dosa, idly.
