Tomato soup is healthy and tasty. It is prepared using tomato and spices. Tomato Soup is generally served as an appetizer before the meal and can be made according to your taste.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Butter - 1 Teaspoon
  2. Bay leaf - 1
  3. Garlic - 4 cloves
  4. Onion - 1 chopped
  5. Tomato - 4 chopped
  6. Beetroot - 1/4 peeled and cubed
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Black pepper powder - 1 Teaspoon
  9. Sugar - 1 Teaspoon
  10. Cornflour - 1 Teaspoon
  11. Milk - 1/4 Cup
  12. Tomato ketchup - 2 Teaspoon
  13. Water - 3-4 cup
  14. Bread slices - 2 (For croutons)
  15. Oil - 1 Tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Chop onion, tomato, beetroot and garlic.
  2. Take 2 bread slices and cut into small squares.
  3. Heat oil in a pan, fry bread slices till it turns golden on both sides. Remove it to plate and set aside.
  4. Melt some butter in a pressure cooker and add bay leaf, garlic, onion. Saute for a minute. Then add tomato, beetroot and saute for a minute. Add salt, sugar and cook for 2 minutes. Add water and mix well.
  5. When it is cooked, take out bay leaf. Blend the soup in mixer jar or using hand blender. I used a hand blender to puree the soup. Now stain the soup to get smooth texture.
  6. Take a pan, add soup and boil it. Add tomato ketchup, black pepper powder to it.
  7. Take Cornflour in a bowl, add milk and mix well
  8. Pour this mixture into the soup, bring it to a boil
  9. Your Tomato soup is ready to be served. Garnish the soup with croutons, black pepper powder, cream.
  10. Serve tomato soup hot and enjoy.
