Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Raw plantain- 1
  2. Onion - 1
  3. Besan/ Gram flour - 1 cup
  4. Salt - as required
  5. Chilli powder - 3 tsp
  6. Asafoetida - 1/2 tsp
  7. Baking soda - 1/2 tsp
  8. Oil for deep frying

Instructions

  1. Mix gram flour,salt,chilli powder,asafoetida,baking soda together and make a batter with required water to a flowing consistency
  2. Cut the plantain into thin strips along with the skin. Cut onion into slices
  3. Heat a deep bottomed pan and pour oil enough for deep frying.
  4. Dip the plantain strip in the batter and well coat it on both sides and fry in hot oil till it's cooked.
  5. Repeat the same with onion also
  6. Serve hot with chutney or ketchup
