Awesome preparation of crispy noodles topped with tangy sauce and vegetables.

American Chopsuey

Ingredients to make American Chopsuey

  • 4 cup hakka noodles (parboiled)
  • 3.5 tblsp cornflour
  • 1/2 cup sliced onions
  • 1/2 cup capsicum strips
  • 1/2 cup carrot finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup beans finely chopped
  • 1 garlic finely chopped
  • 1 cup tomato ketchup
  • 2 tblsp chilli sauce
  • 1 tblsp vinager
  • 1 tblsp sugar
  • salt as per taste
  • oil for frying

How to make American Chopsuey

  1. Crispy Noodles: Take 3 cups of noodles in a big mixing bowl and spread 2 tblsp of cornflour on it and mix it well.
  2. Divide in 4 equal portions. Heat the oil and fry each batches of noodles one by one.
  3. Chopsuey Toppings: Mix 1.5 tbls cornflour in 1.5 cup of water. Heat oil, add onions saute for a minute.
  4. Add carrot, capsicum and cabbage, saute for 2 minutes.
  5. Add ketchup, chilli sauce, vinegar, salt , sugar and cornflour paste.
  6. Divide it in 1/4 and 3/4 ratio.
  7. Now add the remaining noodles to 1/4 portion of mixture and saute for 2 minutes while stirring occasionally.
  8. Assembling: Place some noodles mix , then one portion of crispy noodles and at last spread the chopsuey topping over it.
