Popular in south karnataka, a yummy side dish made with jackfruits, to be served with roti or rice.

Ingredients to make jackfruit curry (gujja gasi)

  • Raw jackfruit
  • Jackfruit seeds
  • White and black soaked over night chickpeas - 1/2 cup
  • Grated coconut - 1 cup
  • red chilli - 7-8
  • urad dal - 1tbs
  • tamarind
  • oil
  • curry leaves
  • mustard seed
  • salt

How to make jackfruit curry (gujja gasi)

  1. Take a pan.. Put little oil and Fry red chilli, mustard seed, grated coconut, urad dal
  2. Cool it and add it to mixy along with salt and little water
  3. Grind it to fine paste
  4. Boil raw jackfruit, jackfruit seeds and chickpeas in water
  5. Now add boiled chickpeas and raw jackfruit in cooker along with prepared masala and water as you require the thickness
  6. Boil for about 15 mins
  7. In another pan add oil and mustard seeds.. When it starts to pop up add on the cooked curry...
  8. Serve with rice chapatti or Dosa
