A delicious evening snack, made with jackfruit seeds. A perfect accompaniment with the evening tea.

Ingredients to make Jackfruit seeds vada

  • Jackfruit seeds 25
  • Basan 2 tbsp
  • onion 1 small ,finely chopped
  • green chillies 2 chopped
  • salt
  • curry leaves a few
  • coriander leaves a few
  • oil to deep fry.

How to make Jackfruit seeds vada

  1. Remove white skin of seeds. Cook with some water & salt. Till 2 or 2 whistles. Do not overcook.
  2. When cool, grind it without adding water.
  3. Mix all the ingredients together except oil. Make a dough. If necessary sprinkle some water just to make dough.
  4. Heat oil in a pan. Take lemon size balls from the dough, just flatten it with hands, like Vada. Deep fry in oil.
  5. Cook both sides well
  6. Drain excess oil putting it on tissue paper or something like that.
  7. Serve hot or warm. It remains crispy even after 2 , 3 hrs.

My Tip:

Take care not to overcook seeds.
