My kids favourite, our Holi is incomplete without this yummy delicious sweet dish.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Bottle gourd/dudhi -500 gram
  2. Pure ghee 4Tablespoon
  3. 2-3drops of liquid colour
  4. Milk 400 ml
  5. Sugar 100 gram
  6. Condensed milk 200 ml
  7. Cardamom powder 1 teaspoon
  8. Roughly crushed nuts 1 /4 cup(almonds,cashew,walnuts)

Instructions

  1. Rinse 500 gram bottle gourd ,peeloff the skin cut it into 2halves and take out the white part and seeds ,we need only green portion of bottle gourd. Grate green part of it,
  2. heat 4 tablespoon of pure ghee in a kadhai and saute grated bottle gourd for about 3-4 minutes .
  3. until becomes little soft.
  4. Add in 2-3 drops of olive colour
  5. Add in 400 ml of full cream milk and cook on high to low flame.
  6. Cook until all milk dries up stirring constantly make sure it should not burn.
  7. Now add in 100 gramSugar. We are adding less sugar because we r using sweet condensed milk also.. If you want you can skip sugar and increase the quantity of condensed milk Cook on medium flame stirring constantly.
  8. Now add in 200 gram condensed milk (Milkmaid) Cook on medium flame stirring constantly.
  9. Sautee nuts in 1 tablespoon ghee,Add in roughly crushed nuts and cardamom powder.
  10. Cook for another 2 minutes and take off the heat.
  11. Garnish with nuts and Serve hot or chilled as per your choice.
