About Lahori Murgh Masala Recipe

It is typically from Lahore and this dish is prepared regularly in every household at Lahore. They are very proud of this dish and can be cooked very easily. It is aromatic and tangy.

Lahori Murgh Masala

Ingredients to make Lahori Murgh Masala

  • 1 kg of chicken thigh pieces.
  • Chopped ginger, garlic and green chilli - 3 tbsp
  • 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • Kashmiri red chilli - 2 tsp
  • onion paste - 2 tbsp
  • [Coriander, fennel seeds and peppercorns]dry roasted and then powdered - 1 tbsp
  • 2 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • 1 big tomato [chopped]
  • Kasuri methi - 1 tbsp
  • garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
  • turmeric powder - 1 tsp
  • salt
  • refined oil

How to make Lahori Murgh Masala

  1. Wash the chicken pieces and marinate for 30 mins with lemon juice, salt, haldi and white oil.
  2. Take a deep wok and add chopped ginger, garlic and green chilli.
  3. Saute them until brown. Then add onion paste and saute again for some time.
  4. Then add the chicken pieces and coat them well with the Masala.
  5. To it add all the powdered spices and then cook them for 10 mins.
  6. Then add ginger garlic paste and chopped tomatoes. Fry them well until the Masala is cooked well.
  7. Add water to it and let it cook in medium flame for 5 mins and 10 mins in low flame.
  8. When the chicken is tender add the garam Masala and kasuri methi to it.
  9. Let it cook for another 3 mins then take it our in serving bowl and put lemon juice chopped green chilli and ginger Julianne.

My Tip:

Best eaten with roti or fulkas.
