Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. For the dough:-
  2. 1 cup wheat flour
  3. 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  4. Salt a pinch
  5. Water as needed to form a dough
  6. Clarified butter 1 tbsp +3 tbsp while making puranpoli
  7. For the filling:-
  8. 1 cup skinned split bengal gram
  9. 1 cup grated jaggery
  10. 1 cardamon and 2 pinch of nutmeg powdered with 2 tbsp sugar


  1. Wash, soak and cook the skinned split bengal gram till it's soft and can be smashed between your fingers. Now since its cooked properly, smash the dal and add in the powdered sugar and jaggery. Mix it properly.
  2. Cook till the mixture leaves the pan and laddle stands straight upright without any support.
  3. Let this mixture cool for some time. After some time take small balls of the dough and fill it with equal amount of this mixture and roll it out to make thin flat breads.
  4. Cook this in a hot griddle till it's cooked and add a spoon full of ghee/clarified butter.
  5. Cook from both sides and serve it hot with lots of ghee and serve it with sweet milk.
