About Nasi Lemak Recipe

Malaysian rice recipe. Mouth-watering aroma of lemon grass and coconut. Pungent flavor of ginger and wholesome goodness of rice.

Nasi Lemak

Ingredients to make Nasi Lemak

  • 2 cups basamati rice
  • 2cups coconut milk
  • 2tsp ginger paste
  • 2 blades of lemon grass
  • salt as per taste
  • green chillies optional
  • 1/2 cup peanuts
  • 2boiled eggs
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 onion

How to make Nasi Lemak

  1. Take all the ingredients.
  2. Wash rice. Soak it for 10min.
  3. Take a pan add soaked rice, lemon grass blades, ginger paste, salt, chillies, coconut milk and 4 cups of water. Cook rice on high flame for 5min.
  4. When come to boil lower the heat. Cook it on low flame till rice gets cooked properly.
  5. Heat pan. Add little oil in it. Fry peanuts till become golden brown.
  6. Fry onions till become golden brown.
  7. Boil egg.
  8. Rice is ready. Plate it with fried peanuts onions, egg and sliced cucumber.
