Besan Ki Kadhi

Ingredients to make Besan Ki Kadhi

  • 3 cups curd
  • 1 cup gram flour (besan)
  • 6 cups water
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp asafoetida
  • 1 tsp chilli Powder
  • salt to taste
  • 1-2 whole red chillies
  • 4 tbsp mustard oil
  • For the pakora: 1 cup gram flour
  • salt t tatse
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • For tempering: ghee 1 tsp

How to make Besan Ki Kadhi

  1. In a big bowl add Gram flour, turmeric, chilli powder, salt and then add curd gradually to this mixture to form a smooth paste. Then, add the water.
  2. Heat the oil in a large, heavy-based pan; add the asafoetida and the whole red chillies. Add the flour and yoghurt mixture and bring to a boil. Simmer over a low heat till it thickens a bit.
  3. For pakoris mix mentioned mixture in a bowl, keep aside for 15 minutes. Beat the mixture so that it becomes light & fluffy. Heat oil and drop the mixture in oil and reduce heat to medium.
  4. Cook the pakoras till they become golden from both sides. Drain on a paper towel &then put pakora in the kadhi. Transfer the kadhi & pakoda in a serving bowl.
  5. Heat the clarified butter, and pour over the kadhi. Serve with Rice or Chapati
