ABOUT Apple Launji RECIPE

Raw Mango/Kacche Aam ki Launji is everyone's favourite. Since Mango is a seasonal fruit and is available for a few months a year, you cannot really taste the delicious Raw Mango Launji all the time. Here we are coming with an innovative recipe of Apple Launji. Quick and easy to make, this tastes more or less same as the Raw Mango Launji. Being an Apple dish, it's healthy as ever!

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. • Apple – 1 nos
  2. • Water – ½ cup
  3. • Mustard Seeds / Rai – ½ tsp
  4. • Cumin Seeds / Jeera – ¼ tsp
  5. • Asafetida / Hing – ¼ tsp
  6. • Red Chilli Powder / Lal mirchi – ¼ tsp
  7. • Turmeric Powder / Haldi – ¼ tsp
  8. • Coriander Powder / Dhaniya – ¼ tsp
  9. • Garam Masala – ¼ tsp
  10. • Sugar Or Jaggery – 1 ½ tsp
  11. • Salt – ¼ tsp
  12. • Lemon Juice – 1 tsp
  13. • Oil – 4 tsp

Instructions

  1. • Take a washed Apple and cut into small cubes without peeling off the red skin.
  2. • In a heating pan, add 4 tsp of Oil and heat the Oil.
  3. • Then add ½ tsp of Mustard Seeds (Rai), ¼ tsp of Cumin Seeds (Jeera) and ¼ tsp of Asafetida (Hing) in a pan.
  4. • Furthermore, add chopped Apples into the pan and sauté the Apples for 1 Min.
  5. • Then add all the spices ¼ tsp of Red Chilli Powder followed by ¼ tsp of turmeric powder, ¼ tsp of Coriander Powder and ¼ tsp of Garam Masala into the pan and mix well.
  6. • Add 1 ½ tsp of Sugar or Jaggery and ¼ tsp of Salt as per taste and mix with Apples nicely.
  7. • Then add ½ cup of Water into the pan and cover the pan with a lid and simmer on low flame for 5 – 7 Min or just until the Water gets completely absorbed.
  8. • Then let it cool down completely and add 1 tsp of Lemon juice to the Launji.
  9. • Served as Chutney with Paratha’s or Thepla’s.
