Ingredients to make A Summer special simple Bengali Meal

  • Masoor daal...1cup
  • bay leaf...1
  • onion...4
  • Green chilli...2
  • Dry red chilli...1
  • Panch foron seeds...1tspn
  • salt
  • sugar
  • Bitter gourd...300gm
  • potato...1
  • turmeric powder...3tspn
  • Red chilli powder...3tspn
  • Lady finger...250 gm
  • tomato...2
  • Chopped garlic...4tspn
  • Milk...1ltr(for kheer)
  • Dry fruits...1/2cup
  • cardamom powder...1/2tspn
  • Liquid date palm jaggery...1/2cup
  • Fish pieces...4
  • lemon juice..2tspn

How to make A Summer special simple Bengali Meal

  1. Boil daal with green chilli & beaten it for a mashy texture.
  2. Heat oil,add bay leaf,dry red chilli & panch foron seeds & let it crackle.After that add boiled lentil & all spices.
  3. Add salt & sugar & required water.Boil it for 10 minutes & then switch off the flame.Its ready.
  4. For tomato bharta, fry chopped garlic & green chilli in hot mustard oil for few minutes.
  5. Add chopped tomato, red chilli powder & salt.Cook it well.
  6. Now add some chopped onion & mix it with tomato.Cook it till it become bharta.
  7. Its ready now.Sprinkle some chopped coriander leaves.
  8. For lady finger fry, add 1 chopped onion in hot oil & fry it well.
  9. Add chopped lady finger & all spices.Cook it well.
  10. Its ready now.
  11. For bitter gourd , fry one chopped onion first & then add potato.Fry it for few minutes.
  12. Then add chopped bitter gourd & all spices.Cover it & cook it in low flame till it boil.
  13. Its ready now.
  14. For fish fry, marinate the fish with salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder,lemon juice & 1tspn semolina.Shallow fry then.
  15. For rice kheer, boil milk with 3tspn rice & cardamom powder.Make the quantity of milk almost half.Then add liquid jaggery & dry fruits.Serve chilled.
  16. Full dish is ready.Enjoy it with your family.
