This is my all time favourite mom ke haath ka khatta metha nimbu ka aachar

Moms Sweet Lemon Pickle

Ingredients to make Moms Sweet Lemon Pickle

  • lemons 20 to 24
  • Salt 6 tbsp(use the mota namak)
  • turmeric pwdr 2 tsp
  • jaggery 1 kg
  • Red chillie pwdr 2 tsp

How to make Moms Sweet Lemon Pickle

  1. Cut the lemons into 4 and remove the seeds
  2. Put the lemons in a jar add the salt and turmeric
  3. Cover the jar with a muslin cloth and keep the bottle in sun for 2 to 3 days
  4. Shake Every day to make sure the salt is all melted
  5. After 2 to 3 days the lemons will turn soft and the salt must have all melted
  6. Take the jaggery and soak it in water
  7. Once the jaggery melts add the lemons
  8. Cook the lemons in the jaggery till the syrup becomes thick
  9. Once cool, add the pickle in a sterilized glass jar
  10. The pickle says well for a year or 2
  11. You can even add dates, carrots, raisins to the pickle while boiling

My Tip:

Goes well with rotis,parathas etc. Cook the pickle well on slow flame and the pickle will last for years.
