ABOUT Chilly Chocolate Roshbora RECIPE

A very famous and traditional Bengali Sweet recipe made with a little twist.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Urad dal 1 cup
  2. Fennel seeds 1 teaspoon
  3. Chilli flakes 1 tablespoon
  4. Sugar 2 cups
  5. Water 1 and 1/2 cups
  6. Salt- a pinch
  7. White oil for deep frying
  8. Melted chocolate 1/2 cup

Instructions

  1. Soak the urad dal in water for 4 hours. Then grind with minimum water till it is smooth.
  2. Then add fennel seeds, pinch of salt, chilli flakes and 2 teaspoons of melted chocolate. Mix them well together.
  3. Heat oil in a pan, note that the oil must be steaming.
  4. Turn the heat to medium setting, make round balls from the mix and deep fry till they are golden brown.
  5. Drain the oil and add freshly fried bora to the sugar syrup.
  6. For the syrup preparation:
  7. Heat a pan, put in 2 cups of sugar and 1 cup of water. Let it come to a boil and simmer for 5 - 6 minutes.
  8. Garnish with melted chocolate and serve it with dessert, hot or cool as you like it.
