Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Onion – 1 sliced  
  2. Tomato – 1 chopped
  3. Green Chilli – 1
  4. Chicken – 1/2 kg
  5. Turmeric Powder – 1 tsp
  6. Salt to taste
  7. For Masala:
  8. Oil- 1 tblspn
  9. Cinnamon – 1 small stick
  10. Whole Pepper – 1 tsp
  11. Fennel Seeds – 1 tblspn
  12. Onion – 2 sliced
  13. Tomatoes – 4 chopped
  14. Coconut – 1 cup
  15. Chilli powder – 1 tsp
  16. Coriander Powder – 1tblspn
  17. Turmeric Powder – 1 tsp
  18. Curry leaves – 1 spring

Instructions

  1. Start by making the masala. Heat oil in a kadai. Add fennel seeds, cinnamon, pepper and saute for a min.
  2. Add in onions, curry leaves and saute for 3 mins.Add in tomatoes and mix well.Cook for 3 mins.
  3. Add in chilli, turmeric and coriander powder and mix well.Add in coconut and mix well. Fry this till they turn golden.
  4. Take this in a blender and allow to cool down. Grind it to a smooth paste. Set this aside.
  5. Now take onion, tomatoes, green chilli and chicken in a kadai. Add salt and turmeric powder.
  6. Pour in enough water to cover the chicken . Bring it to boil and cook it for 15-20 mins untill the chicken is cooked.
  7. Now pour in the masala and mix well. Bring this to a boil
  8. Cover the pan and let it simmer for 15-20 mins till oil separates from this.
  9. Serve hot with parota
