ABOUT Classic Egg bread RECIPE

This dish is full of protein as it is mainly made up of eggs. It's perfect for breakfast, brunch or snack. Choose your topping is tottally up to you, and it is just endless! I love just a hint of mild herb like cilantro or parsley and some permesan..

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Self-raising flour- 2/3 cup
  2. castor sugar-1/3 cup
  3. ground salt- 1/4 tsp
  4. egg (for batter)- 1 large
  5. melted salted butter- 1/3 cup
  6. Vanilla Essence- 1/4 tsp
  7. Milk- 1/3 cup
  8. eggs (for individual bread)- 6 small
  9. ground salt- pinch to sprinkle on top of the egg yolk)
  10. melted butter- to brush onto a muffin tray
  11. Optional things:
  12. cheddar cheese- 1 slice
  13. ham or bacon- 1 slice
  14. dried parsley flakes
  15. Tomato Sauce
  16. mayonnaise

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degree C(350 degree F) for 20 mins.
  2. Brush some melted butter on the individual muffin holes of the tray. (I have used bread tray)
  3. Sift the flour, sugar and salt into a large bowl.
  4. Mix 1 egg (for batter), milk, butter, vanilla essence in a small bowl and  whisk them well.
  5. Combine 3 and 4 above in the large bowl and mix them well.
  6. Take out some batter (from above) onto the bread/muffin tray. Fill 1/3 part first then add the egg(if using muffin tray then on each tray add egg). NOTE: you can add any of the optional ingredients listed above per your liking.)
  7. Put the tray in the oven and bake it for 25 mins.
  8. After 25 mins, take the tray out and check whether it’s all cooked. You can use toothpick.
  9. Cool the tray down for 3-4 mins.
  10. Carefully take out the egg bread and enjoy!
