ABOUT Chettinad Style Aloo RECIPE

Traditional South Indian chettinad potato recipe with loads of curry leaves. An awesome aroma and flavour.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 300 gram boiled small potatoes
  2. 1/4 cup mastard oil
  3. 6 curry leaves
  4. 2 teaspoon black urad dal
  5. salt to taste
  6. 2 unhole chilli
  7. 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
  8. 1 teaspoon turmeric
  9. 1 teaspoon mastard seeds
  10. 1 tsp garlic
  11. 1 chopped onion
  12. 1 teaspoon ginger

Instructions

  1. HEAT 1/4 CUP MASTARD OIL IN A WOK.
  2. ADD 1 TSP MASTARD SEEDS, 2 TSP BLACK URAD DAL, TWO RED CHILLIES.
  3. LET THEM CRACKLE.
  4. ADD 1 TSP CHOPPED GINGER, 1 TSP GARLIC PASTE
  5. SAUTE THEM.
  6. ADD 1 CHOPPED ONION.
  7. SAUTE.
  8. SAUTE TILL PINK.
  9. ADD 6 CURRY LEAVES, 1 TSP TERMURIC POWDER.
  10. ADD 1 TSP RED CHILLI POWDER AND SALT TO TASTE.
  11. FRY A LITTLE, ADD 300 GRAM BOILED POTATOES.
  12. COOK FOR 5 TO 10 MINUTES AT LOW FLAME.
  13. NOW OFF THE HEAT.
