ABOUT Braided bread RECIPE

This one combines irresistible flavors of banana and chocolate for a yummy recipe. Soft and sweet with unique two colors braided style.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. For quick water roux-
  2. APF 2tbsp
  3. Hot water 4tbsp
  4. For yeast mixture -
  5. yeast 1tsp
  6. sugar 1/2tsp
  7. Warm water 2tbsp
  8. For dough-
  9. APF 2cups
  10. Soft butter 2tbsp
  11. salt as per taste
  12. egg 1 no
  13. Warm milk 4-5tbsp or more according to requirement
  14. For chocolate dough -
  15. Cocoa powder 1 tsp
  16. Soft butter 1tsp
  17. For stuffing -
  18. Chocolate chips/flakes 1/2cup
  19. banana ripe 2 (cut in the middle and split up)
  20. egg yolk 2 for egg wash
  21. oil 2tsp for greasing

Instructions

  1. SOAK 1TSP YEAST, 1/2TSP SUGAR WITH WARM WATER FOR 8-10MINS OR TILL FROTHY.
  2. PREPARE WATER ROUX BY MIXING 2TBSP APF WITH 4TBSP HOT WATER.
  3. MIX TILL SMOOTH.
  4. TAKE 2CUPS APF AND SALT TO TASTE IN A MIXING BOWL AND ADD THE YEAST MIXTURE.
  5. MIX WITH A SPOON.
  6. ADD WATER ROUX AND MIX.
  7. ADD 2TBSP SOFT BUTTER, FEW TSP WARM MILK AND ONE BEATEN EGG.
  8. KNEAD TO A SMOOTH DOUGH.
  9. DIVIDE THE DOUGH INTO TWO EQUAL PARTS. ADD 1TSP COCOA POWDER AND 1TSP SOFT BUTTER IN ONE PART.
  10. KNEAD TILL SMOOTH.
  11. PUT BOTH THE DOUGHS IN A GREASED CONTAINER. APPLY OIL ON BOTH.
  12. COVER WITH CLING WRAP AND KEEP IN A WARM PLACE FOR 1-2HOURS.
  13. THEY WILL BE DOUBLE BY SIZE. REMOVE THE CLING WRAP.
  14. AGAIN KNEAD AND CUT INTO 4EQUAL PIECES.
  15. ROLL ONE PLAIN AND ONE CHOCOLATE DOUGH.
  16. STACK OVERLAPPING EACH OTHER LENGTHWISE AND ROLL OUT.
  17. FILL WITH CHOCOLATE CHIPS/FLAKES AND SLICE OF BANANA.
  18. FOLD THE TOP END OF THE DOUGH AND CUT LITTLE DOUGH AT THE CORNER FOR EASY FOLDING.
  19. CUT ON THE LEFT AND RIGHT DOUGH LIKE SO.
  20. BRAID TILL END.
  21. CUT THE EXCESS DOUGH AND PRESS THE EDGE.
  22. PUT ON A TRAY AND KEEP COVERED FOR 30MINS TO 1HOUR.
  23. AFTER SECOND RISE EGG WASH THE BREADS.
  24. BAKE FOR 20-25 MINUTES IN A PREHEATED OVEN AT 200C.
