Orange candied peels are used in various bakes to enhance the flavour and richness of the baked goodies . Homemade fresh orange candied peels are far better than the store brought ones undoubtedly. Know how to make them so easily in very few steps .

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Orange 1 big sized
  2. water for boiling 3 glass
  3. sugar syrup :
  4. sugar 3 tablespoons
  5. water 1/4 cup
  6. sugar 2 tablespoons for coating


  1. Take the peels of 1 big orange . Cut them into vertical strips .
  2. Add the peels in the boiling water . Use 2 glass water for boiling . Boil for 7 to 10 minutes .
  3. Water turns orange in colour .
  4. Remove the peels from the water and drain completely .
  5. In another bowl , boil a large glass of water . Add the drained peels .
  6. Boil the peels again for another 7 minutes .
  7. Remove the boiled peels and drain them completely for the second time.Boiling peels and discarding
  8. the boiled water takes away the bitterness from the peels . In a container , add 3 tablespoons
  9. Sugar and 1/4 cup water . Dissolve and let boil till syrup looks frothy .
  10. Add in the drained orange peels.
  11. Cover and cook the peels in low for 25minutes
  12. The peels are soft and almost done. See that they don’t get burnt . Once syrup drained , take
  13. the sweetened peels out and cool them completely as shown .
  14. Take 2 tablespoons sugar in a bowl .
  15. Roll the cooled peels over the sugar . Sugar coat each peel . Keep them aside for few minutes .
  16. Homemade Orange candied peels are ready . Chop them and use in cakes and breads of your choice .
