ABOUT Idli Fry RECIPE

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1 cup rava / sooji
  2. 2 tablespoon curd
  3. salt ( to taste)
  4. 1/2 cup sliced onions
  5. 1 tablespoon onion greens
  6. 1 cup sliced bell pepper ( red, yellow, green)
  7. 1 teaspoon rai
  8. 1/4 teaspoon hing
  9. 8-10 Curry Leaves
  10. 1 tablespoon ghee
  11. 1/4 teaspoon red chilli powder
  12. 3/4 cup water
  13. 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  14. oil (for greasing)

Instructions

  1. MIX 2 TBSP CURD IN 1 CUP SEMOLINA
  2. ADD SALT, 1/4 WATER, MIX INTO A THICK PASTE
  3. KEEP ASIDE FOR 30 MINS
  4. ADD A LITTLE MORE WATER, 1/4 TSP BAKING SODA, MIX TILL SMOOTH
  5. PUT BATTER IN GREASED IDLI MOULDS, STEAM FOR 10 MINS
  6. ADD 1 TSP MUSTARD SEEDS, 1/4 TSP ASAFOETIDA IN 1 TBSP HOT GHEE
  7. ADD 8-10 CURRY LEAVES, 1/2 CUP SLICED ONIONS & 1 TBSP ONION GREENS
  8. ADD 1 CUP TRI COLOURED BELL PEPPERS, SAUTE 5-7 MINS
  9. ADD SALT, 1/4 TSP RED CHILLI
  10. CUT THE STEAMED IDLI INTO 4 PIECES
  11. ADD IDLI TO THE TADKA, FRY FOR 2-3 MINS
  12. SERVE HOT
