ABOUT Homemade Rumaali Rotis RECIPE

A Mughlai velvety smooth, melt in mouth, fluffy rotis that are a treat to the tastebuds. It can be served with both a veg or a non veg dish. It is a must have at any important occasion especially weddings in Hyderabad. Loved by many for it's super soft texture, it can literally be folded like a napkin and hence the popular name given to it as rumaali rotis. It is very easy to make at home too and the only thing needed is to roll them as thin as possible. Use of milk gives them the softness. Happy Cooking Everyone !!!!!!!!!

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. All purpose flour 2 cups
  2. Salt 1 tsp
  3. Oil 2 tsp
  4. Warm milk 1 cup (or little more)

Instructions

  1. ADD 2 CUPS FLOUR TO A BOWL
  2. ADD 1 TSP SALT
  3. ADD 2 TSP OIL
  4. ADD 1 CUP WARM MILK GRADUALLY
  5. KNEAD A SMOOTH DOUGH
  6. ADD MORE MILK IF REQUIRED,
  7. COVER WITH A DAMP CLOTH, SET ASIDE FOR 20 MINS
  8. HEAT A KADHAI ON LOW HEAT
  9. INVERT IT OVER THE FLAME LIKE THIS
  10. PUNCH THE DOUGH AFTER RESTING IT
  11. DIVIDE THE DOUGH INTO 18-20 SMALL BALLS
  12. KEEP THE BALLS COVERED WHILE YOU ROLL THE ROTIS
  13. DUST LITTLE FLOUR ON THE KITCHEN COUNTER, START ROLLING
  14. ROLL AS THIN AS POSSIBLE
  15. DUST FLOUR WHILE ROLLING
  16. ROAST IT ON THE INVERTED KADHAI ON MEDIUM HEAT
  17. PRESS THE ROTIS WITH A CLOTH TO ENSURE EVEN COOKING
  18. COOK FOR 1 MINUTE ON EACH SIDE
  19. REMOVE, FOLD AND PLACE IN A CASSEROLE
  20. SOFT & FLUFFY RUMAALI ROTIS ARE READY
