ABOUT Instant Appe RECIPE

Rawa Appe is the variation of traditional appe as it is made of semolina and is instant to prepare.

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Semolina/rawa/sooji 1 cup
  2. Curd 1/2 cup
  3. Onion 2 tbsp chopped
  4. Carrot 2 tbsp chopped
  5. Capsicum 2 tbsp chopped
  6. cabbage 3 tbsp chopped
  7. Eno fruit Salt (regular flavour) 1 tsp
  8. Salt to taste
  9. Green Chilly paste 1/4 tsp
  10. Asafoetida a pinch
  11. Ginger garlic paste 1/2 tsp
  12. Cumin seeds 1/4 tsp
  13. Mustard seeds 1/4 tsp
  14. Curry leaves 6-7
  15. coriander leaves 2 tbsp
  16. water as required
  17. oil 2-3 tbsp

Instructions

  1. DRY ROAST THE 1 CUP SAMOLINA FOR 2-3 MINUTES
  2. TRANSFER THE SAMOLINA INTO A BOWL, ADD 1/2 CUP YOGHURT
  3. ADD WATER AND PREPARE A THICK BATTER
  4. COVER IT AND KEEP ASIDE FOR 15 MINUTES
  5. FOR TAMPERING- HEAT 1 TBSP OIL
  6. ADD PINCH OF ASAFOETIDA 1/4 TSP MUSTARD SEEDS 1/4 TSP CUMIN SEEDS 1/4 TSP GINGER GARLIC PASTE
  7. WHEN THE GARLIC GETS BROWN ADD CURRY LEAVES, ADD THIS TADKA IN SAMOLINA BATTER
  8. ADD SALT TO TASTE 2 TBSP CARROT 2 TBSP BELL PEPPER 2 TBSP ONION
  9. 3 TBSP CABBAGE 2 TBSP CORIANDER LEAVES 1/4 TSP GREEN CHILLY PASTE WATER AS REQUIRED
  10. MIX WELL
  11. ADD 1 TSP ENO FRUIT SALT AND 2 TBSP WATER. MIX WELL
  12. GREASE THE NON-STICK APPAM MAKER WITH OIL
  13. ADD 1 TBSP BATTER IN EACH CAVITY
  14. APPLY SOME OIL ON TOP AFTER 2-3 MINUTES
  15. NOW FLIP THE APPE, UPSIDE DOWN
  16. COVER IT AND LET IT COOK FOR 3-4 MINUTES
  17. TAKE OUT IN A PLATE, WHEN IT'S GOLDEN FROM BOTH SIDES
