The vadas are made mostly with pulses. I used equal quantity of pulses and Vegetables to make Healthy vadas.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Channa dal 1/2 cup
  2. Tuvr dal 1/2 cup
  3. Hing 1/2 tsp
  4. Fennel Seeds 1 tsp
  5. Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  6. Green chillies 2
  7. Red Chillies 2
  8. Salt
  9. Carrot/ Cabbage/ Beetroot grated 1/4 cup
  10. Onion chopped 1
  11. Curry, Coriander, mint chopped
  12. Besan flour 2 tbsp optional

Instructions

  1. SOAK 1/2 CUP CHANNA AND TUVR DAL FOR 2 HOURS. STRAIN WATER COMPLETELY
  2. ADD 1 TSP FENNEL SEEDS AND 1/2 TSP TURMERIC POWDER
  3. ADD REQUIRED SALT AS PER TASTE
  4. ADD 1/2 TSP HING
  5. ADD 2 GREEN CHILLIES, 2 RED CHILLIES AND CHOPPED GINGER. GRIND TO COARSE PASTE
  6. ADD GRATED CARROT, CHOPPED ONION, CURRY, CORIANDER AND MINT LEAVES
  7. MIX WELL. REST FOR 5 MINUTES. IF THE BATTER IS NOT THICK ADD BESAN FLOUR
  8. MAKE SMALL PORTIONS
  9. SHAPE VADAS
  10. DEEP FRY VADAS ON MEDIUM FLAME
  11. Crispy Healthy vadas ready to serve
