ABOUT Homemade Sun dried tomatoes RECIPE

One of the quintessential ingredients in so many world cuisines. A must have for people who do not compromise when it comes to the flavour of the dish. I have not literally sun dried them, you will require an oven.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 kg firm red tomatoes
  2. Salt to taste
  3. Black pepper to taste
  4. 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. TAKE 1 KG WASHED, FIRM & RED TOMATOES
  2. CUT INTO HALF
  3. SCOOP OUT THE SEEDS WITH THE SCOOPER
  4. FLIP THEM TO GET RID OF EXTRA WATER
  5. CUT INTO HALF AGAIN
  6. TRANSFER IN A BOWL, ADD SALT
  7. PEPPER TO TASTE AND 2 TBSP OLIVE OIL
  8. MIX WELL
  9. ARRANGE THE TOMATOES ON A BAKING TRAY LINED WITH BUTTER PAPER
  10. BAKE FOR 30-40 MINUTES IN PREHEATED OVEN AT 180°C
  11. SUN-DRIED TOMATOES ARE READY
  12. WHEN COOLS DOWN, TRANSFER IN A AIRTIGHT CONTAINER
