A very unique and easy to make melt in mouth ice halwa, a popular sweet from Bombay (Mumbai).

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1 cup milk
  2. 1/4 cup semolina
  3. 1 cup sugar
  4. 1 cup ghee + 1 tsp
  5. Orange food color [1 pinch]

Instructions

  1. ADD 1 CUP SUGAR, 1 CUP MILK TO A PAN
  2. ADD 1/4 CUP SEMOLINA, 1 CUP GHEE
  3. BRING TO A BOIL ON HIGH HEAT, STIRRING CONTINUOUSLY
  4. ADD A PINCH OF ORANGE FOOD COLOUR, MIX
  5. STIR & COOK ON LOW HEAT TILL IT FORMS A SOFT & STICKY DOUGH
  6. ADD 1 TSP GHEE, MIX, TAKE OFF HEAT
  7. QUICKLY TRANSFER TO A GREASED FOIL SHEET, COVER WITH ANOTHER SHEET
  8. ROLL IT OUT
  9. SPRINKLE CHOPPED NUTS, PRESS DOWN GENTLY
  10. ROLL OUT AGAIN
  11. REFRIGERATE FOR 2 HOURS, CUT INTO SMALL SQUARES, STORE IN AN AIR TIGHT CONTAINER
