This is an easy and protein rich pulao, which is a delicious tiffin recipe.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Soya chunks/nuggets - 1 cup
  2. Cooked rice - 1 cup
  3. Onion (chopped) - 2
  4. Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
  5. Tomato (chopped) - 1
  6. Yoghurt - 3 tbsp
  7. Garam Masala Powder - 1 tsp
  8. Chilly powder - 1 tsp
  9. coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
  10. Salt
  11. Refined oil
  12. Whole garam masalas (cloves, cinnamon, cardamom) - just a few

Instructions

  1. Boil ample amount of water in a saucepan and then soak the soya chunks in it. Let them soak until they fluff up.
  2. Then drain the chunks and squeeze out the extra water from them. Deep fry them in hot oil (this step is optional). Keep aside.
  3. Now heat some oil in a pan, add the whole garam masalas. Then add chopped onion and saute until golden Brown.
  4. Now add the ginger garlic paste and saute for few seconds followed by the chopped tomatoes and powdered spices, salt.
  5. Cook until the tomatoes are mushy. Then add the yoghurt and keep stirring. Cover and cook until the masala is done. Add the fried soya chunks. Cook till the masala is dry enough.
  6. Then add the cooked rice. Stir and keep it covered for few minutes while the flame is on low..
  7. Stir once more, check for seasoning and serve.
