Ingredients Serving: 1

  1. 2 large sweet dates
  2. 3 dried figs
  3. 1 teaspoon ghee
  4. a cup of warm water
  5. 1 teaspoon ground cardamom powder
  6. 3 slivered pistachios


  1. chop the figs
  2. deseed the dates and chop them too
  3. place both in a bowl of warm water for 15 minutes to soften
  4. post soaking, transfer them in a blender and blend smooth into a purée using little water (used for soaking)
  5. melt ghee in a saucepan and transfer the purée in it
  6. stir continuously as the mix thickens
  7. add cardamom powder midway before the mix reaches halwa consistency
  8. take off heat once the mixture comes together
  9. transfer in a serving bowl and garnish with slivered pistachios
  10. enjoy while warm!
