ABOUT Sweet Potato Buns RECIPE

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. 3 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  2. 2 tesp yeast
  3. 1 tbsp castor sugar
  4. I tesp salt
  5. 2 Eggs
  6. 1 tesp white sesame seeds
  7. 1/2 cup boiled grated sweet potato
  8. 3/4 cup warm water
  9. 6 tbsp soft unsalted butter
  10. 1 tbsp oil


  1. In a bowl add warm water ,castor sugar and yeast, let set for 5 minutes.
  2. To this add all purpose flour,salt, butter ,eggs and sweet potato.
  3. Mix and knead for 10 minutes to a soft dough.
  4. Make a ball of the dough, apply oil all over the dough and place it in a oiled bowl.
  5. Cover with cling wrap,wait for it to rise.
  6. Deflate the dough, remove and divide it to 8 pieces.
  7. Shape each to a round ball.
  8. Place on lined baking sheet.
  9. Brush with milk and allow to rise for the second time.
  10. Preheat oven 180 ℃ for 10 minutes
  11. Bake at 170℃ for 20 minutes.
  12. Remove apply egg or milk wash , sprinkle white sesame.
  13. Place back to the oven , bake for 5 minutes at broil mode or till the buns are golden brown.
  14. Remove apply butter on the buns and place on wire rack,to cool completely.
  15. Fluffy sweet potato buns are ready.
