Mysore pak is a traditional recipe of Mysore with full of aroma. It is a good mixture of Besan flour and home made pure ghee.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. 2 cup sugar
  2. 1 Cup water
  3. 3 cup ghee
  4. 1 cup besan flour


  1. Take the besan flour, sieve it.
  2. Then in low flame fry it in thick bottomed pan until get the good aroma.
  3. Allow it to complete cool, sieve it to avoid lumps and to get pure aroma.
  4. In a large pan add ghee and heat in simmer till you prepare Mysore pak.
  5. Now in a large heavy bottomed pan combine sugar and water, bring to a boil.
  6. Keep boiling and stirring continuously till the sugar attains one string consistency.
  7. Furthermore, keep the flame on very low and add sieved gram flour little by little in batches.
  8. Stir continuously making sure no lumps are formed.
  9. Now take a laddle full of hot ghee and pour over the besan mixture.
  10. Continuously stir till ghee is absorbed completely.
  11. Again, add another laddle full of hot ghee.
  12. Keep continuously stirring in low flame till all the ghee is absorbed.
  13. Keep repeating till the mixture starts to separate from pan, ghee starts releasing from sides.
  14. Immediately, transfer the mixture to ghee greased tray of enough depth, helps to get golden brown colour in between.
  15. After 5 minutes cut into pieces as desired.
  16. Allow it complete cool in room temperature.
  17. Then separate the pieces.
  18. Serve good taste, smooth mysore pak.
