Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Chicken 500 grams
  2. Onion 1 chopped
  3. Tomato 1 pureed
  4. Slited green chilli 3
  5. Chopped green chilli 2no
  6. Cream 1/4cup
  7. Oil 3-4tbsp
  8. salt as per taste
  9. Ghee 1tsp
  10. Charcoal 1small piece
  11. Aluminum foil
  12. For first marination -
  13. Lemon juice 1/2of a lemon
  14. Ginger garlic paste 2tsp
  15. For second marination -
  16. Thick yoghurt 1/2cup
  17. Cumin powder 1tsp
  18. coriander powder 1tsp
  19. Garam masala powder 1/2tsp
  20. Chaat masala powder 1tsp
  21. Black pepper powder 1tsp
  22. Chilli flakes 1 tsp
  23. Kasuri methi 1tbsp

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken with lemon juice and ginger garlic paste.
  2. Cover and keep for 15 minutes.
  3. Take yoghurt in a bowl and add all the spices for second marination.
  4. Mix well.
  5. Add this mixture to the chicken.
  6. Mix well and keep covered for 1 to 2 hours in the refrigerator.
  7. Take out and add fresh cream and mix well.
  8. Burn a charcoal on gas stove.
  9. Put an aluminium foil over the chicken and place this charcoal on the aluminium foil carefully.
  10. Pour 1tsp ghee on the charcoal.
  11. Cover with a lid for 15 minutes.
  12. Heat oil in a pan.
  13. Shallow fry chicken pieces.
  14. Transfer to a plate.
  15. Add chopped onion to the remaining oil and saute.
  16. When onion becomes transculant add tomato puree, slited green chilli and mix.
  17. Add the leftover marination, little water if required and salt to taste.
  18. Cover and cook till oil separates.
  19. Now add the fried chicken pieces to the gravy.
  20. Coat well with the help of a spoon.
  21. Cook for 2 minutes and serve immediately.
  22. Don't over cook the chicken pieces in the gravy otherwise the chicken will loose all the flavours.
  23. Serve hot with any paratha, naan.
