Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Kunafa dough / very thin pheni 1 cup equals 100 ml
  2. Whole milk 2 tablespoons
  3. cream cheese unsalted 2 tablespoons
  4. Chopped black raisins
  5. pistachio powder 1 tablespoon
  6. For sugar Syrup :
  7. water 50 ml
  8. sugar 100 ml cup
  9. Rose water 1 /2 teaspoon
  10. lime juice 1/2 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Take cup shaped moulds . Place parchment sheets in the moulds .
  2. Fill half the cups with kunafa dough . Press in the centre and give a nest like shape .
  3. Pour a teaspoon of milk to moist the nest . Don’t pour too much and make the nests soggy .
  4. Fill the centre of the best with cream cheese .
  5. Top the cream with raisins and pistachio powder .
  6. Bake these kunafa nests in a preheated cooker for 20 minutes in low to medium heat .
  7. Meantime , prepare sugar syrup .
  8. Sugar syrup similar to gulab jamun sugar syrup consistency is required .
  9. Add a cup water and 1.5 cups sugar . Allow the syrup to boil still sticky .
  10. Add rose essence .
  11. Switch off the heat .
  12. Add lime juice to the syrup .
  13. Bring the syrup to warm .
  14. After 20 minutes , Kunafa nests are baked with brownish outer texture .
  15. Allow the nests to cool . Then gently unwrap the sheet from the Kunafa nests.
  16. While serving , pour sugar syrup on the Kunafa nests for the best taste .
  17. Serve warm .
