ABOUT Potato Bonda RECIPE

A nice and tasty evening snack,easy to make.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Batter
  2. 4 tbsp besan flour
  3. 2 tbsp idli or dosa batter
  4. salt as per taste
  5. 1/4 tesp asafaetida
  6. 1/4 tesp baking soda
  7. Water to make the batter
  8. Filling
  9. 3 medium sized boiled potatoes
  10. 1 small onion finely chopped
  11. 1 tbsp coriander leaves
  12. 2 green chilli minced
  13. 1 tesp ginger garlic paste
  14. salt as per taste
  15. 1 tbsp oil
  16. Oil to shallow fry

Instructions

  1. Place a pan with 1 tbsp oil on medium flame
  2. Add onions and saute till soft
  3. Stir in the ginger garlic paste,green chilli and coriander leaves.
  4. Add salt saute for a minute
  5. Remove and add it to the mashed potatoes.
  6. Mix well and make lemon sized balls out of it.
  7. Add the ingredients for batter in a bowl.
  8. Add water and make a batter ( dosa batter consistency).
  9. Pace a deep cooking pan with enough oil on medium flame.
  10. Dip the potato balls one at a time in the batter and drop into the oil.
  11. Fry them golden brown.
  12. Remove serve hot.
