ABOUT Achari Mathri RECIPE

A crispy and very tasty mouth-watering mathri. A perfect snack with evening tea.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 2 cups maida
  2. 2-3 tsp suji
  3. 2-3 tsp besan
  4. 1/4 cup hot oil
  5. 3 tsp achari masala
  6. 2 pinches of red chilli powder
  7. 1/4 tsp haldi
  8. Water for the dough

Instructions

  1. Take a big bowl, put in maida, suji, besan and mix all the ingredients well together. Then add red chilli powder, haldi, salt and mix it well.
  2. Then add the achari masala and mix it neatly. Next add hot oil and mix it scrambled, then add water to make a hard dough and keep it aside for 15-20 mins.
  3. Next make equally shaped dough balls and roll it to make the mathri. (I have rolled all the rotis, then cut the matris in square shapes with the help of a cookie cutter.)
  4. Keep a kadhai on the stove and put in oil to heat, once the oil is hot, put in the matris and fry on a low flame till they become crispy.
  5. Serve it with hot tea.
