ABOUT Mango Sandwich RECIPE

I love mangoes and one of my favourite summer snacks is a perfectly ripe mango dusted heavily with chilli powder and a little salt. The chilli powder should have a little spice to it but not be super spicy. It just gives the mango so savoury flavours and pairs perfectly with the juicy sweetness of the fruit. I could eat my weight in the stuff. I wanted to bring that flavour profile into a grilled cheese and cheese slice works beautifully in this sucker. The creaminess of it goes perfectly with the sharpness from the fruit.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Mango 1
  2. Chilli Powder 1 teaspoon
  3. Salt 1/2 teaspoon
  4. Cheese slices 2
  5. Butter 2 tablespoon
  6. Sandwich bread 4 slices

Instructions

  1. Slice the mango into thin strips.
  2. Season the mango with chilli powder and salt.
  3. Toast the bread with little butter just on one side.
  4. Then we build our Sandwich on the toasted side(leaving the un-toasted side facing out). Place the seasoned mangoes and cheese slice. Try to have a nice even layer of both mango and cheese.
  5. Then grill the sandwich in a griller or cook for 3 minutes over medium heat on skillet.
