ABOUT Sago basket chaat RECIPE

Have made Sabudana (sago) baskets by deep frying them and served them in chaat form. Have made it chatpata and is fried so everyone would like to have in the monsoons. Also the taste of raw mango tastes awesome!

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1/2 cup sago washed and soaked
  2. 3 medium sized potatoes boiled and grated
  3. 2 tsp green chilli paste
  4. Salt to taste
  5. 1 tsp roasted cumin seeds powder
  6. 1/2 tsp black pepper powder
  7. For filling in the basket:
  8. 1/2 raw mango cut into small pieces
  9. 1/2 tomato cut into small pieces
  10. 1 tbsp red coloured capsicums cut into small pieces
  11. 2 tbsp green coloured capsicums cut into small pieces
  12. 3 tbsp yellow coloured capsicums cut into small pieces
  13. 1/2 boiled potato cut into small pieces
  14. 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  15. 2 tsp chaat masala
  16. 1 tsp red chilli powder
  17. Salt to taste
  18. For topping:
  19. 1/2 cup hung curd
  20. 1/4 cup sweet chutney
  21. 1/4 cup green chutney
  22. Chaat masala as per taste

Instructions

  1. For the sago baskets: Mix all the ingredients of sago basket properly.
  2. Take some mixture for making the basket and line it up in a stainless steel sieve and deep fry it from both the sides.
  3. Similarly fry the other baskets.
  4. Mix all the ingredients for the filling except coriander leaves
  5. Place the filling in each baskets.
  6. Top it with hung curd, sweet chutney, green chutney and chaat masala.
  7. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
  8. Very interesting dish is ready to be served.
