Aatta Biscuits

Ingredients to make Aatta Biscuits

  • 1 cup wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup ghee
  • 1/2 cup khand bura /sugar powder / gur / shakkar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • Crushed pieces of few cardmoms

How to make Aatta Biscuits

  1. First sieve flour, salt and baking powder in a big bowl.
  2. Add butter in it rub with finger tips to make it like bread crumbs.
  3. Then add sugar and mix properly.
  4. Add milk slowly to make a soft dough.
  5. At last, add cardmom powder and mix it nicely in the dough.
  6. Dust your kitchen platorm or board with flour.
  7. Roll the dough with rolling pin in square shape.
  8. Cut with a knife or cookie cutter or any cap of a bottle to give it the desired shape.
  9. Grease or line your cookie tray with a parchment paper and place cookies on it (keep them at a distance from each other).
  10. Place in a preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes or till browned at 170 degrees.
  11. Cool on a wire rack and store in an airtight jar.
  12. Enjoy with tea, coffee or milk.

My Tip:

If you are using readymade butter or Amul butter, then no need to add salt in the flour.
