Chocolate Sponge Cake

Ingredients to make Chocolate Sponge Cake

  • 1 1/2 cup all purpose flour (Maida)
  • 2 tsp cornflour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 4 tsp chocolate powder
  • 1/2 cup curd
  • 1/2 tin milkmaid
  • 1/4 cup refined oil
  • 1/4 cup fresh cream (malai)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence

How to make Chocolate Sponge Cake

  1. Sieve all the dry ingredients twice and keep aside.
  2. Mix sugar in the curd, whisk well.
  3. Combine all the wet ingredients.
  4. Add dry ingredients gradually into the wet ingredients and make a batter. Adjust the consistency.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased baking tin.
  6. Bake in a kadahi/wok for 40 minutes. You can check in the middle of cooking.
  7. To check, insert a knife in the middle of the cake, if the knife comes out clear. The cake is ready.

My Tip:

While baking cake in wok, keep the flame on low.
