authentic and traditional sweet dish of Orissa when all odisha celebrating lord Jagannath"s car festival,its celebrating 10 days.that time lord jagannath stay in his mausi maa mandir,during this time maa tarini brata was celebrated, & make this sweets as a prasad,every odiyas enjoyed lots during car festival,festive season is started & lots of various sweets made in those days.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. 500 grams white rice
  2. hundred grams urad dal
  3. milk 500 ml
  4. salt according to text
  5. sugar according to your test
  6. Bayleaves 2 nos
  7. cardamom 4-5 nos
  8. grated coconut 1 cup
  9. Chopped dry fruits for garnishing
  10. Desi ghee 1 tbsp


  1. first make a fine & thick batter using of soaked rice and urad dal,
  2. Add Pinch of salt and baking soda, in a batter,& mix it well
  3. in a heavy bottom pan add water in half quantity
  4. Then add Pinch of salt 3 bay leaves and crushed cardamom into the water
  5. And boiled the water for sometimes when the water is started boiling
  6. Take batter & drip small size ball's into boiling water
  7. After sometimes u can see the dumplings are floating on the water,
  8. After 3 -4 mins take out the dumplings from boiled water
  9. Now add milk in this boiled water,∧ after that add sugar according to ur taste,
  10. & mix it well,when the sugar ìs dissolved then add grated coconut
  11. & cook for few minutes,then add cooked dumplings & mix it well
  12. Cook the dumplings in boiled milk in a medium heat, when the milk get thickened switch off the flame,
  13. Cool down& serve chilled, its flavour ,texture is too good,
  14. Make it & enjoy a different style desert making with coconuts,milk,& rice,lentil dumplings...
  15. When it's chilled garnish with some chopped dry fruits (optional).....& serve.
