Ingredients to make Getei Atakali

  • 500 grams white rice
  • hundred grams urad dal
  • milk 500 ml
  • salt according to text
  • sugar according to your test
  • Bayleaves 2 nos
  • cardamom 4-5 nos
  • grated coconut 1 cup
  • Chopped dry fruits for garnishing
  • Desi ghee 1 tbsp

How to make Getei Atakali

  1. first make a fine & thick batter using of soaked rice and urad dal,
  2. Add Pinch of salt and baking soda, in a batter,& mix it well
  3. in a heavy bottom pan add water in half quantity
  4. Then add Pinch of salt 3 bay leaves and crushed cardamom into the water
  5. And boiled the water for sometimes when the water is started boiling
  6. Take batter & drip small size ball's into boiling water
  7. After sometimes u can see the dumplings are floating on the water,
  8. After 3 -4 mins take out the dumplings from boiled water
  9. Now add milk in this boiled water,∧ after that add sugar according to ur taste,
  10. & mix it well,when the sugar ìs dissolved then add grated coconut
  11. & cook for few minutes,then add cooked dumplings & mix it well
  12. Cook the dumplings in boiled milk in a medium heat, when the milk get thickened switch off the flame,
  13. Cool down& serve chilled, its flavour ,texture is too good,
  14. Make it & enjoy a different style desert making with coconuts,milk,& rice,lentil dumplings...
  15. When it's chilled garnish with some chopped dry fruits (optional).....& serve.

My Tip:

U can add some crushed black pepper in the desert..for taste...
