A very tasty delicious breakfast made with coconut

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. FOR APPAM ::::
  2. Raw rice : 2 cups
  3. cooked rice : 1 and half cups
  4. coconut : 1
  5. white whole urad dal : 2 teaspoons
  6. fenugreek : 1/2 teaspoon (optional)
  7. salt : to taste
  8. cooking soda : 2 Lavish pinch
  9. FOR THUVAIYAL ::::
  10. Grated coconut : 1 cup
  11. Onion : 1
  12. Red chilli : 4
  13. Roasted bengal gram : 2 tablespoons
  14. Salt : to taste

Instructions

  1. For making appam:::
  2. wash and soak raw rice fenugreek and white whole urad dal in water for 2 hours
  3. then add the soaked raw rice, cooked rice, urad dal and fenugreek in a mixie jar and needed water to grind it to a fine better
  4. The batter must be very smooth
  5. Shift it to another vessel. Add needed salt and mix well with hands...
  6. Let it rest for fermentation for 6 hours
  7. once the batter is fermented it is ready to cook
  8. add two pinches of cooking soda in the better and needed amount of water. The batter should not be thick like Idli batter. For Appam the batter must be so watery
  9. take a non stick appachatty and keep it in low flame
  10. the appachatty should not be hot while pouring the Appam batter
  11. if it is so hot then the appam will not come out good
  12. once Appam batter is poured in the appa chatty cover it with a lid and keep it in low flame for 3 to 4 minutes
  13. After 3 to 4 minutes the appam will be cooked well
  14. Take it out and serve hot with coconut thuvaiyal...
  15. For making Thuvaiyal::::
  16. Add grated coconut, roasted Bengal gram, Red Chillies and salt in a mixie jar and grind it to a coarse paste
  17. then add onion and green chillies and grind it for 2 to 3 times in whip mode
  18. that's all the coconut thunvaiyal is ready
  19. Enjoy the delicious appam with coconut thuvaiyal....
