Simple cookies with Italian seasoning or any seasoning of your choice to go with your teatime or as a snack.

Herbed Savoury Butter Cookies

Ingredients to make Herbed Savoury Butter Cookies

  • 150gms maida
  • 100gms butter
  • 1/4 teaspoon Baking powder
  • Seasonings if your choice ( Pizza, Italian or mixed herbs) else can use fresh herbs for flavour burst
  • 1/4teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/4 cup Grated cheese ( optional )

How to make Herbed Savoury Butter Cookies

  1. Mix together room temperature butter and sugar until light and changes colour.
  2. Sieve maida, baking powder and salt together.
  3. Add fresh or dry herbs of your choice and mix well.
  4. Add grated cheese if you like.
  5. Combine them all together to form a not very soft but a pliable dough.
  6. Roll the dough to about 1/4 inch thickness and cut out shapes or round cookies using a cookie cutter.
  7. Preheat oven at 150 degrees for 10mins.
  8. Place the cookie shapes on a baking sheet and bake for around 15mins until the colour changes to golden yellow.
  9. Allow it to cool completely.
  10. Store in airtight container and serve during teatime or anytime of the day.
