About Kombdi vade/ Malvani vade Recipe

Kombdi Vade is staple food of Malvan which is very popular in west coast in Maharashtra. Very flavorful, crispy and tastes fabulous with chicken curry specially.

Kombdi vade/ Malvani vade

Ingredients to make Kombdi vade/ Malvani vade

  • 1 cup rice flour 
  • 1/2 cup wheat flour 
  • 1/2 cup gram flour 
  • Mixture of 1 tbsp urad dal, 1/2 tsp cumin seeds, 7-8 fenugreek seeds 
  • salt according to taste
  • turmeric 
  • Plastic sheets
  • oil

How to make Kombdi vade/ Malvani vade

  1. Heat enough oil for deep frying
  2.  To make the dough
  3. In a bowl add 1 cup rice flour, 1/2 cup wheat flour, 1/2 cup gram flour
  4. Add mixture of 1 tbsp urad dal, 1/2 tsp cumin seeds, 7-8 fenugreek seeds
  5. Add 1/4 tsp turmeric and salt according to taste
  6. Now add some water and 1 tbsp oil
  7. Once the dough is formed, place a plastic sheet on the kitchen platform
  8. Now make a small dough ball and place it on the plastic sheet
  9. With the use of fingers, start pressing the dough in a circular direction
  10. Once the circle is formed, put it into the hot oil
  11. Once the vade turns golden brown, it is ready
