Sai Bhaji

Ingredients to make Sai Bhaji

  • Bunch of palak - 100gms
  • methi leaves - 100 gms
  • Dil leaves - 100 gms
  • 1 1/2 cup chana daal soaked
  • 1 cup chopped mix vegetables (optional)
  • 2 onions finely chopped
  • 4-5 tomatoes chopped
  • 2 green chillies chopped
  • 1 inch ginger chopped
  • 4-5 cloves garlic chopped
  • oil for cooking
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp hing powder

How to make Sai Bhaji

  1. Finely chop all the green leaves.
  2. In a cooker put some oil. Add onions and saute till pink.
  3. Now add green chillies, ginger, and tomatoes.
  4. Add to this soaked chana daal. Then salt and turmeric.
  5. Put all green leaves and mix well.
  6. Now add vegetables.
  7. Saute all this for few minutes and then add one cup water.
  8. Close the lid and let it cook until 3-4 whistles. Also cook on slow flame for 10 mins.
  9. Now smash this a little with wooden churner.
  10. In another pan put some oil. Add to this garlic and let it fry till golden brown. Also add hing and red chilli powder. Use this as a tadka.
  11. Serve hot with chapati or rice.

My Tip:

Teaspoon of kitchen king masala adds to the taste of sai bhaji.
