ABOUT Bengali Dhonepata Murgi (Coriander Chicken) RECIPE

Bengali dhonepata murgi is almost the same as dhaniya murg, which has its root in North Indian kitchen.The flavour of coriander leaves & mint leaves makes this chicken curry very special.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Chicken...500gm
  2. Coriander leaves a bunch
  3. Mint leaves...4tspn
  4. Green chilli...5
  5. Onion_ginger paste...3tspn
  6. Garlic...6 to 8
  7. Turmeric powder...1tspn
  8. Red chilli powder...1tspn
  9. Curd...4tspn
  10. Garam masala...1tspn

Instructions

  1. Make a paste of coriander leaves,mint leaves, garlic & green chilli.
  2. Marinate the chicken with salt, red chilli, turmeric powder & curd.
  3. Heat oil & fry the onion_ginger paste for few minutes.
  4. Add coriander paste.
  5. Mix red chilli powder in 2tspn curd & mix it with coriander gravy.
  6. Add marinated chicken.Mix it with gravy.Don't add water, cook it in medium low flame.
  7. After 15 to 20 minutes, when chicken became soft, add 2 cup of hot water.Add home made garam masala (powder made from dry roast red chilli, cinnamon stick,bay leaves,cloves & green cardamom).Cover it & let it cook for 10 minutes more
  8. Serve it with any Indian bread & salads.
