ABOUT Pui patar bora RECIPE

This bora or fitters are made of pui shaak leaf . It is a traditional bengali snack item.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Pui saak pata or Malabar spinach leaf- 18-20 nos
  2. Finely chopped green cilli 2
  3. Red cilli powder 1/4 teaspoon (optional)
  4. Salt as required
  5. Poppy seeds 1 teaspoon
  6. Besan or gram flour 2 table spoon
  7. Mustard oil for deep frying
  8. Rice flour 3/4 table spoon


  1. Clean and chop pui leave
  2. Add chopped cilli and poppy seeds red cilli powder and salt.
  3. Add besan and rice flour
  4. Mix well and add little water and mix make a thick mixture.
  5. Heat oil and add small small portion of the thick mixture pui leave mix and deep fry.
  6. Remove from oil.
  7. Serve hot as teatime snack or as a side dish with Rice and dal or khichri.
